Sotera Mansion Palawan

Upon arrival, we are greeted with a warm welcome from the travel agency. They gave us a native necklace of shells which added more to our excitement. We arrived on the afternoon at Sotera's mansion. The appartment given to us was really big for 5 persons.

1ST DAY: Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park

We went to City Coliseum for the tour guide has to get a permit. They have limited the number of people to visit the underground river per day. The way to the underground river from the city is quite far. We traveled almost 3 hrs to reach the port where we still have to ride a pumpboat to reach the cave. Not bad since we have a very good tour guide. There's a mountain there which forms like an elephant. We pass a village where the guide said living there where vietnamese people. They migrated in palawan during world war as he said. And a lot more information on places we pass through on our way, until we reach the port. We waited about an hour for our turn in the pumpboat. This is their way to keep the place from being crowded.

In riding the pumpboat, you could see rock formations and the beauty of nature itself. Awesome views! Then, finally we're here. We still have to walk a short distance passing through a forest. Seeing a monkey passes by is normal. There were even komodo dragons freely living in the place.

2ND DAY: Honda Bay Island Hopping Tour

We went to Pandan Island first. The place was great. They have bamboo raft which could be used during snorkeling. Then, to cowrie island where we took our lunch. We also tried banana boat riding for Php1500.

3RD DAY: City Tour

Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center
Someone from the center will give you a tour. In the entrance of the hall dried skin and skeleton of a salt water crocodile named Rio.

Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm
This is a very big place! Before reaching the receiving area for tourist you would still pass a farm which is planted and taken cared of by prisoners. Upon entering the house, you could see souvenir items made by them. They even presented a dance to entertain visitors.

Bakers Hills Palawan
You could buy here Palawan delicacies that you could take home for family and friends.

Butterfly Garden and Tribal Village
There are a lot of butterflies inside. There is also a stand with display of cocoons. At the back of the garden is the tribal village. They showed us how to make a fire from a rock. They also have snakes and they will get it from the box if you want to hold it. They also have products for sale like baskets, bangles, etc.

Binatuan Creations
We tried it out of curiosity. You can also buy their products like wallet, placemat, bags,  ets.

Rancho Sta. Monica
Also known as Mitra Ranch. It is located uphill wherein you could see the beauty of puerto princesa. They also have zipline and horseback riding activities.

We enjoyed every place we have visited! And that's all for our Puerto Princesa Eacapade!!! :D

Cebu Westown Lagoon

Place suitable for kids and kids at heart.

November 3, 2014 - A splendid day spent with my love ones! Day before my birthday, my family decided to try the newest resort in the heart of the city. It was a talk of the town since it opened last August 2014.  We swim and swim and it was the best outing ever!

Cebu Westown Lagoon is adjacent to MO2 facing the newly build UCMed. They have a very welcoming staff and ambiance was great. Entrance depends on person's height.
Rate for 4ft and up costs P300, for person 2ft - 4ft is P200 and 2ft below is free. Upon entering the establishment you will be ask to write your name and signature. They will then put stamp in your hand/wrist. All tickets have 1 free drink (bottled water, canned softdrinks and beers)! Claim free drinks at their mini bar. For food,  they are asking corkage for Lechon Baboy and liquors. Roasted pig above 3 kilogram up to a whole costs 500 corkage fee. For cottage fee, if you will visit on holidays and weekend price is x2 than regular price on normal days. For small cottage, since we went there on a weekday we paid P600. It wasn't really small at all. It can occupy up to 12-14 pax. Big cottage on weekdays is 1200. There was even ceiling fan on all cottages which makes your pay really worth it. But if you only have a little budget, they also have free tables and chairs. Cottages don't have outlets. Wifi is also available only in their receiving area.  Use of cottages is until 5pm, beyond that you will be charge another night rate. We just transferred our stuff at the back on free tables. Not bad at all. :)

They have a kiddie pool which measures 2 feet deep.  At the corner of the pool is a big pumpkin with showers inside it. When kids get tired , they can sit inside the pumpkin. There is also slide which is in a form of a big bird. At the center of the pool was a  plastic colorful slide with water falling and squelching! In top of it is a big bucket. It is continuously filled with water and when it is full bucket turns sideways and water spills.

Biggest pool is 4 feet deep. On the left side is the mini bar half part sinks in the water.  At the back of the pool is the hotel rooms. On the center is a big rock bridge formation with artificial plants on it. Seeing it makes me think im on a safari. There is also water falling from it. At the right back portion is the slide. It measures like a 4 storey building. Two swirling slides actually. Yellow slide is at 3 storey and green is at 4th storey. No staff was assigned on the top of the slide to make sure there's only 1 person sliding at a time.  So, be careful.

They also have 2 jacuzzi. Water is warm and pressure is so relaxing! The corinthian columns add ancient accent to the place. Picture below is the biggest one..

We waited until night to see the lighting of the place. Indeed, the place never fails to amaze our sight!
